Cooperative Economics Initiative Research Awards

Student and Faculty Research in Cooperative Economics

The Blum Center Cooperative Economics Initiative aims to promote scholarly and public understanding of the principles, practices, and prospects for cooperative enterprise in California, the US, and worldwide. A key component of this initiative is funding to seed a new generation of research by UCSB students and faculty, made possible by generous support from the family of Dr U.S. Awasthi and from Philip H. White.

The Blum Center is pleased to announce our inaugural cohort of 2021-22 Cooperative Economics Award recipients, including UCSB Faculty, Graduate, and Undergraduate students. Please see below for an overview of their research projects supported by this funding. Stay tuned for updates on their research projects throughout the year, culminating with the Blum Center Cooperative Economics Research Symposium in Spring 2022.
