Bio

What is one issue related to poverty and inequality that you think is most important right now?

The basic needs crisis on college campuses. In December 2017, UCSB Food Security Data showed that 48% of undergraduates were at risk of being food-insecure. How can students be expected to succeed when they are hungry? The cost of college has ballooned exponentially, but financial support hasn't. If we're really the future of society, how are we expected to survive without food or the money to continue our education? It is essential for us as college students to advocate for ourselves and for our peers because if we don’t, who will?

What quote most inspires you to fight against social injustice?

“You have to act as if it were possible to radically transform the world. And you have to do it all the time.

- Angela Davis
